BMW will start serial production of its fully-electric BMW iX4 model this fall, the German carmaker announced.
With the unveiling of the new BMW iX4, the BMW Group is further expanding its Neue Klasse model family. This is the second all-new Neue Klasse model to be manufactured at the BMW Group plant in Debrecen.
Following the successful launch of series production of the BMW iX3, Debrecen is once again a key location in the BMW Group’s transition toward electromobility. In less than a year, the plant ramped up production of the BMW iX3, introduced 24-hour production, and has produced more than 50,000 vehicles to date. The start of series production of the new BMW iX4 this fall marks the next significant step in this process.
With the arrival of the second Neue Klasse model in Debrecen, the BMW Group Plant Debrecen further strengthens its role in the global manufacturing network as one of the pioneers of the BMW iFACTORY.
The launch of the BMW iX4 is the result of the dedication, expertise, and teamwork of more than 5,000 employees who have helped make Debrecen the home of the Neue Klasse.
With a rapidly expanding workforce and the ongoing training of its growing team, the Debrecen plant’s staff demonstrated exceptional commitment and agility in successfully executing one of the fastest production ramp-ups in BMW Group history. The BMW iX4 builds on this solid foundation, while the plant continues to expand its contribution to the future of electromobility.
