BYD, the Chinese manufacturer of all-electric cars categorized under the collective name New Energy Vehicles (NEV), is expanding its Hungarian sales and service network with three new dealerships, company announced in a statement sent to MTI.

At the official signing ceremony in Budapest, Michael Shu, Managing Director of BYD Europe, signed an agreement with three retail partners to establish new BYD dealerships in Győr, Pécs and Szeged.

The new dealerships – BYD Győr AutoWallis, BYD Pécs Schneider Autóház and BYD Szeged Duna Autó – will open their doors in the first quarter of 2025. BYD's existing retail partners will open showrooms in Győr and Szeged, while in Pécs, Schneider Autóház, a new partner with more than three decades of experience, will join the network.

In the statement, Michael Shu called the partnership agreements a significant step on the way to having a full national network in Hungary. He added that more dealerships will be added to the BYD network soon.

Production at BYD's Szeged plant is expected to start in the near future, but BYD's product range in Hungary is already expanding dynamically.

The company has recently unveiled the TANG premium seven-seater SUV and the SEAL U DM, a model that uses plug-in hybrid technology known as BYD Super DM. In early 2025, the range will be further expanded with the SEALION 7 high-performance SUV, which was unveiled for the first time in Europe at the Paris Motor Show.

The announcement highlighted that the BYD brand has led the Hungarian market for pure electric vehicles (BEVs) since July, while also enjoying outstanding popularity among corporate customers.
