The government aims to support companies generating real added value for Europe and Hungary by creating a level playing field, Minister of Economy and Energy István Kapitány said in Gyor, at the launch of the serial production of Audi Hungaria's new MEBeco electric drive, on Thursday.
MTI quotes István Kapitány as saying that the government is working to create a transparent, fair, corruption-free economy for all businesses that want to operate and generate value in Hungary.
One of the government's commitments is to develop the Hungarian economy with foreign investors who ensure that the value of the Hungarian workforce and its retention in a value chain is realized at the highest possible level, he said.
Michael Breme, chairman of the board of Audi Hungaria, said the launch of the MEBeco serial production is of key importance in the Volkswagen concern's electric transition in the coming period, and is also a signal of the role of Audi Hungaria within the group.
Peter Will, board member for powertrain production at Audi Hungaria, said the 33,000 sqm production area was completed through investment of EUR 350 million. The investment was supported with EUR 22.5 million of state funding.
The MEBeco engine will first be fitted into the Cupra Raval model. The goal is to ramp up production to up to three shifts.
