American Airlines and Malev will launch a daily direct Budapest-New York flight on April 6, the vice president for the region at the American air carrier, Kurt Stache announced at a press conderence in Budapest on Tuesday.
Hungary's state-owned national carrier Malev has a seat-sharing agreement on the flight.
The number of flights will be reduced to four a week on the winter timetable but it will become a daily flight again from the spring of 2012.
Reservations show "unambiguously" that the flight will be full, Stache said.
