The contract between the Angolan Ministry of Interior and the ANY Security Printing Company Plc. has entered into force, the Hungarian company has announced on the website of the Budapest Stock Exchange.
The financing agreement between the Angolan Ministry of Finance and the Hungarian EXIM Bank was signed on May 31, 2023 in Luanda, thus fulfilling the condition for the entry into force of the contract.
Under a 10-year contract, ANY is supplying a new biometric passport issuance system solution to the Angolan Ministry of Interior and SME (Serviço de Migração e Estrangeiros), Angola's Migration and Foreigners Service. The contract is worth EUR 130 million.
The system includes the deployment of biometric enrolment stations, the design and production of the passport booklet, and the setting up of the local personalization system and related services.
A 15% deposit has been received under a contract previously signed between ANY and the Angolan Ministry of Interior. In the first phase of the project, the task is for the system to be deployed, followed by its operation, as well as the ongoing delivery of passports throughout. The remaining 85% will be paid in phases as the project milestones are completed.
