Audi Hungaria Plc., based in Győr, NW Hungary, achieved sales revenue of EUR 8.611 billion (HUF 3,426.7 billion) in 2024, which is EUR 491 million (HUF 195.4 million) less than in 2023.
The company told MTI that its operating profit last year was EUR 368 million (HUF 146.4 billion), while in 2023 it reached EUR 352 million (HUF 140 billion). Its profit after tax was EUR 304 million (HUF 120.9 billion), compared with a profit of EUR 354 million (HUF 140.8 billion) in 2023.
Audi Hungaria said in a statement that it invested EUR 340 million (HUF 135.3 billion) last year. The main investment projects were the new generation of electric drive systems, the preparation for series production of the MEBeco and the preparation for production of the Audi Q3 successor model.
Since its foundation in 1993, the company has invested a total of EUR 12.9 billion (HUF 5133.5 billion) in the site.
Last year, the company produced 1,580,991 powertrains at the Győr site, 79,434 fewer than in 2023. Of the engines produced, 151,899 were electric.
In 2024, 179,710 vehicles rolled off the assembly line (including SKD production), 1,935 more than in the previous year. Of these vehicles, 99,288 Audi Q3, 63,759 Audi Q3 Sportback and 16,663 Cupra Terramars were produced as of September 2024.
At the end of last year, Audi Hungaria employed 11 431 people and, together with its wholly-owned subsidiary Audi Hungaria Ahead Ltd.
The statement quotes Michael Breme, Chairman of the Board of Audi Hungaria, as saying that the transformation of the automotive industry has a major impact on the present and future of all players in the industry. The Audi subsidiary in Győr remains a strategic part of the Audi Group's international manufacturing network and will continue to make a significant contribution to the success and profitability of the Progressive brand group in 2024.
