AutoWallis is further strengthening its cooperation with the Chinese producer of electric vehicles after reaching an agreement to open a car dealership in Debrecen, E Hungary, the car dealer company says in a statement on the website of the Budapest Stock Exchange.
The showroom and service center located in eastern Hungary supports the further growth of the leading integrated car sales and mobility service provider in the Central and Eastern European region.
Present in 17 countries, AutoWallis is now further strengthening its position on the Hungarian automotive retail market after reaching an agreement with BYD, the world’s leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles to open a car dealership and service center in Debrecen.
The expansion into eastern Hungary took place after AutoWallis, listed on the Prime Market of the Budapest Stock Exchange, opened the Chinese car brand’s first showroom in the capital in 2023, followed by BYD’s sales outlet in Győr this spring. The Debrecen store is scheduled to open its doors to visitors of this fast-growing brand by the end of this year. The 400 square-meter BYD car dealership will feature a showroom as well as a service center.
The move is in line with AutoWallis’ strategic goal of continuing to grow through business development in addition to organic expansion and acquisitions. Regarding the occasion, Péter Antal, head of AutoWallis’s Retail Business Unit, said that the BYD dealership in Debrecen is located in a prime location, next to one of the busiest main roads in Hungary’s second largest city.
He also emphasized that AutoWallis remains committed to sustainable operations and the transition to green transportation, which is why the company has decided to further expand its presence in this segment.
