Beurer Hungária Ltd., a manufacturer of medical devices with German background, is making an investment of around HUF 1.7 billion in Veszprém. Hungarian taxpayers will contribute HUF 485 million to the project, according to a government decision.
Hungarian-German economic relations are a key factor in the development of the Hungarian economy. Germany is the biggest investor in Hungary, and trade between the two countries has grown by 16% in the first four months of the year.
For almost 30 years, Beurer Hungária Ltd. has provided a livelihood for almost 300 families locally. Managing Director Csaba Soós said at the ceremony that in addition to the two-storey building with a total area of 3,000 square meters, a 1,250 square metre warehouse for raw materials has been built. He said the company started manufacturing masks last year and is adding three more products to its range - a high-powered infrared lamp, an electric blood pressure monitor and a non-contact thermometer. According to Beurer Hungária's electronic filing, between April 2019 and March 2020, the company achieved a turnover of more than EUR27 million, up EUR 1 million on a year earlier. Its profit before tax was EUR2.392 million and it employed 272 people during the period, the state news agenmcy MTI reports
