TriGránit, the developer of Millennium Gardens and the Kantin restaurant chain, which focuses on premium office catering, have agreed to open the latest unit of the restaurant chain, successfully operating under the Kantin brand in the Millennium Gardens office building in Budapest.

A press release by TriGránit and Colliers International says that, under the current agreement, from the handover of the office building in June 2022 the restaurant – occupying a floor space of nearly 1,000 square meter and a 200 square meter terrace – awaits not only the office workers of the Millennium City Center, but also the staff and guests of the nearby MÜPA and the National Theater.
The operator plans to keep the restaurant partially open beyond office hours, even if this service does not start immediately. In the 250-seat restaurant, in addition to the traditional office menus, premium food with table service will be available, thus making the new unit an excellent venue for business lunches and meetings.
Millennium Gardens will be part of the Millennium City Center, which is a modern, airy area with a waterfront panorama and also excellent transport links. Providing ideal spaces for medium and large companies, easily divisible floors of a size of 3,670 square meters have been built on the 10 floors of the building in a total of 37,000 square meters, in which a roof terrace will be created, providing a complete panorama of the Danube.
“Our aim was to make a restaurant for future tenants, which is suitable for the aesthetic character and high quality of the Millennium Gardens building. In our experience, the quality environment, sophisticated design and high-quality hospitality are important to the newer employees representing the Y and Z generations, and also they can afford it. When a company selects new office space, providing young people with the right working conditions and working environment plays an important role in the decision-making process – which is why we are happy to welcome such a prestigious catering unit among our tenants,” according to Károly Dömötör Makk, the Leasing Manager of TriGránit.
The founders of the Kantin restaurant chain are Béla Szini, one of the owners of Pomo D’oro and Attila Hegyi, the owner of Albatros Catering and Pasztell restaurants. In 2019, their first restaurant was opened on Váci út, which has since been followed by the opening of another unit and they are working on the opening of more units.
According to operation director Attila Hegyi, “there is a huge gap in the field of canteen services. We, together with Béla, implemented the knowledge we gained in the field of hospitality – be it catering or high-quality traditional hospitality – into this market and tried to redefine this segment. Our restaurants are defined by good quality ingredients, a wide selection and the atmosphere of a modern bistro. We can see the positive feedback and even after a difficult year and during COVID, our already opened units have performed well. This unit, opening in Millennium Gardens, will be one of our next major openings, that proves our faith in the sector and we will not stop, we are preparing to open more units.”
