BMW Group continues to expand its manufacturing network in Europe, with the aim of establishing a new plant in Hungary, near Debrecen. The value of the new investment will exceed EUR 1 billion. In the newly established plant, capacity will be up to 150,000 vehicles per year and will create more than 1,000 new jobs.

"Creating a new BMW Group plant will further boost our global growth. After major investments have been made in China, Mexico and the US, we are now further strengthening our position in Europe, which will strike a balance between the manufacturing bases of the Asian, American and European continents," according to Harald Krüger, Chairman of the BMW Group Board.

"Europe is the largest player in the BMW Group's manufacturing network. In 2018 only, we invest more than EUR 1 billion in our German factories to prepare them for the most advanced technical requirements for electric vehicle production," he added.
