2024 has been a very eventful and professionally successful year for the Hungarian packaging firm Sz.Variáns, as János Szakál, the company's managing owner, was nominated for the Ernst & Young "Businessman of the Year" award. In addition, the company has received a number of prestigious awards over the past year, including the Store Insider Award, which have further enriched Sz.Variáns' excellent results, the company has announced in a statement.  

The Debrecen-based family business, which was 30 years old in 2024 and is one of Hungary's leading packaging technology companies, has received the Hungaropack Grand Prix, the largest domestic recognition for packaging manufacturers, for the tenth time. This time, the Debrecen-based company was awarded the honor, which goes back almost 60 years, for packaging that strengthens the luxury segment of a confectionery product.

The company continues to achieve outstanding results in the domestic and international markets with its innovative solutions and environmentally conscious approach, while leading the way in combining tradition and modern technology, contributing to the international recognition of the Hungarian packaging industry.

The family-owned business produces tens of millions of boxes every year, 80% of which are for the domestic market and 20% for export. 10% of the fabulous products produced for the foreign market are exported to Slovakia, 5% to Romania, 3% to Austria and 2% to Germany.

In addition, the company is a supplier of impressive packaging for prestigious brands, so that from Japan to Dubai and America, Debrecen's quality is on display. This way, the company continues to strengthen its global presence, expand its international influence and conquer new markets around the world. In 2024, Sz.Variáns was able to achieve a 23% increase in turnover compared to the previous year, which is particularly good considering the market conditions.
