Traffic returned to normal on Saturday afternoon as Budapest Airport was re-opened following shutdown of its operation just before noon on Friday due to electric problems. The problem was fixed and flights resumed from 7 a.m. on Saturday

A communiqué by Budapest Airport said “the electric supply of the tower has been impacted by a technical problem."  Outgoing flights were suspended while incoming ones were diverted to Bratislava, Slovakia, to Vienna, Austria or Debrecen, eastern Hungary. Altogether, 103 departing and 84 incoming flights were affected.
