Thanks in part to its exceptionally flexible working arrangements, Roche's Budapest-based service center was awarded first place at this year's CEE Business Services Summit & Awards.
With 31 employees of different nationalities and a large number of female managers, the office in the Hungarian capital further strengthens its role within the global group, a press release by the company points out.
Roche Services (Europe) Ltd. was virtually introduced to 197 senior executives from 57 business services centers in Central and Eastern Europe, along with 146 other companies that were also shortlisted for the ninth edition of the regional summit, the CEE Business Services Summit & Awards. The awards were presented in 29 categories. Roche Services (Europe) Ltd. was awarded the 'Business Services Office of the Year 2021 - Hungary' prize, based on the votes of the professional jury and the participants.
The Budapest-based service center, which serves the EMEA region covering Europe, the Middle East and Africa, supports 50,000 Roche employees in more than 60 countries. Employing 31 different nationalities and a large number of female managers, the office has grown from 900 to more than 1,300 in four years. Recently, 150 new complex, high value-added positions were added to the service center after the Swiss-based global company decided to restructure its People & Culture structure. A further expansion of around 100 people is expected for the rest of the year, in complex finance roles.
"In order for Roche's Budapest Service Center to continue to be the mainstay of the development of the Group's global organisation, a corporate culture that fosters openness and collaboration and encourages the development of individual capabilities is essential," Martin Kikstein, the CEO of Roche Services (Europe) said. He paid tribute to the work of his predecessor, Eve Bader, who continues her career in Germany and led the team in Budapest until the end of last year.
