Hungarian-owned CE Glass Industries will invest HUF 1.6bn in a capacity expansion at its base in Szatymaz (SE Hungary), Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjártó said on Thursday.
The government is supporting the investment with HUF 650 million, Szijjártó said, adding that it would secure around 180 local jobs.
The minister pointed out that new machines will be purchased as part of the project, automation will be strengthened, and logistics will be further developed, paving the way for the company's expansion in Serbia, Romania, and Italy.
He then emphasized that the vast majority of CE Glass Industries' suppliers are Hungarian small and medium-sized enterprises, and the project will create new opportunities for them as well.
