Makó-based Váll-Ker Ltd., a manufacturer of fireplaces, is increasing its production capacity by 75% with a HUF 3 billion investment, with the support of the European Union, the company informed the state news agency MTI.
EU support will cover HUF 1.515 billion of the development under the ‘Hungarian multi’ program.
The main activity of the Hungarian-owned Váll-Ker Ltd. is the production of wood-burning metal fireplaces and fireplaces, but the company, founded in 1992, also produces and sells pellet and pellet-wood mixed-fuel fireplaces, barbecue appliances and garden ovens. With an efficiency of over 90%, the fireplaces meet increasingly stringent emission standards.
The firm, which has had its own development base for ten years, exports 98% of its products to all European countries.
Last year, the company manufactured 35,000 fireplaces, increasing its turnover by 40% compared to HUF 4.3 billion in 2020. The company's order book for this year has increased to 49,000 pieces. The company's key equipment is in production seven days a week in three shifts.
In the 5,300-square-meter hall, which will be built as part of the development and will use Industry 4.0 solutions, the company will be able to carry out all its fireplace manufacturing operations in one place. The company will install three new laser cutting machines with camera-based part recognition, four new robotic welding cells, two automated painting cells with part washing equipment and self-propelled robots for material handling.
The new hall will be capable of producing 30,000 new fireplaces and the investment will increase the company's workforce by 250.
