Following a EUR 10.6 million investment, almost a third of which is covered by Hungarian taxpayers through a government decision, the expansion of Audi Hungaria’s tool plant is now complete, providing a dynamic backdrop to the continuously developing operation of the company in Győr, NW Hungary. As a result, more space of 6,300 square meters and 30% added capacity for exclusive series manufacturing will be available.
A number of renowned figures of politics and Audi Hungaria were present at the inauguration ceremony where the newly installed automated manufacturing cells in the expanded tool plant of the German OEM were started as the latest milestone of the company’s developments in Hungary.
The tool plant of 52,000 square meters has been in operation since 2005, and a wide range of products and services have been developed along the way including manufacturing simulation, construction, design and production of manufacturing equipment as well as making bodywork items in exclusive series manufacturing.
As Alfons Dintner, Chairman of Audi Hungaria’s Board of Directors pointed out, the aim of the Hungarian subsidiary is to contribute to the success of the Group by producing premium products and as a competence center providing world-class services. The tool plant leads the way in this regard by creating substantial added value for customers worldwide.
