The turnover at Hörmann Hungária Ltd., which sells garage doors, exterior and interior doors and traffic restraint systems, increased by 19% (to HUF 9.5 billion) compared to the previous year, the company told the Hungarian news agency MTI.
According to the information provided, internationally, the German parent company closed with a 5% increase and sales revenue of EUR 1.5 billion. A significant part of the revenue at the Hungarian firm were realized from the sale of industrial gates and loading technology, door technology, and the retail business. Sales increased 10% in the first quarter compared to the same period last year.
According to Hörmann Hungária Ltd. manager László Szujó, last year's growth and the good performance of the first quarter of this year are mainly due to public investments and housing construction in recent years.
It was reported that the Covid-19 epidemic did not cause a production problem at Hörmann, and the Chinese factories only closed down for a month. The company continued its international expansion: it opened its third plant in China and will open another Hörmann plant in the United States in a few weeks to cover the East Coast. The portfolio was expanded not only with new factories, but also with a product group, as the company acquired the French high-speed door manufacturing company Maviflex.
The company will introduce new products to the Hungarian market this year and is confident that the momentum of the construction industry will last this year, they added.
