Europtec Ltd., a company with a Swiss background, is building its fourth production hall in Zalaegerszeg, SW Hungary, with an investment of about EUR 5 million, the company's managing director, Gábor Belső said at a press conference in the Zala county seat on Monday.
He recalled that the company, which manufactures precision plastic components, has been operating in Zalaegerszeg for 33 years and employs 180 people. The third hall was opened seven years ago and the fourth hall will be inaugurated this summer, following the current construction work.
He said that they entered the healthcare industry ten years ago; the new investment is entirely dedicated to the production of plastic parts for surgical and diagnostic devices. The 2,500 square meter production hall will cost around EUR 5 million, but the total investment over six years will be EUR 12 million.
The managing director also said that the investment has been awarded a HUF 1 billion grant from the HIPA National Investment Promotion Agency and the Hungarian state. The new production lines will allow for an increase of 80-100 employees.
Europtec Ltd.'s net sales in 2022 were HUF 4.55 billion and its profit after tax was HUF 740 million, the company told MTI.
