Halms Hungary, part of the Huashuo Group, is establishing its European center for the manufacture of automotive parts in Miskolc. Thanks to the investment in the Southern Science and Technology Park, INPARK area, Halms will manufacture aluminum castings and machined parts for leading car brands and automotive suppliers such as Volvo and Magna. Medium and large high-pressure aluminum castings and machined parts will be used for automotive powertrains, transmission and structural systems. Only recycled aluminum will be used for production in Miskolc. The investment of more than EUR 200 million will be implemented in three phases by 2032.
Nearly 30,000 cubic meters of earth were moved and more than 8,600 cubic meters of concrete and 54 kilometers of electrical wiring were used for Halms Hungary's European automotive center under construction in Miskolc. The exterior of the building, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, has already been completed. The first production unit will start operating in the summer of 2026, manufacturing parts for global brands such as Volvo and Magna.
According to the plans, the first production unit, whose building is now practically complete, will start operating in the summer of 2026. In the coming months, INPARK will focus on landscaping, planting, and commissioning and testing the technology.
Illustrating the scale of the construction, INPARK CEO Albrecht Armand says that "the construction is progressing at a spectacular pace for the people of Miskolc, ahead of schedule, and is expected to be completed in 10 months. We moved nearly 30,000 cubic meters of earth and used more than 8,600 cubic meters of concrete for the construction. Stability is provided by 3,994 piles, with more than 54 kilometers of electrical wiring running through the building."
One of the special features of the building will be its heavy-duty reinforced industrial floor, which can withstand loads of up to 20 tons per cubic meter. This required 120 tons of steel for reinforcement. Another technological feature is the 18-25 tonne capacity double-carriage overhead crane used in the plant, which covers the entire production segment.
As Norbert Kovács, HR and legal director at Halms Hungary, explains, "the 100,000-square-meter plant will be capable of producing two million automotive parts per year, and we plan to employ 1,000 people."
