The investment of Harro Höfliger Hungary Ltd. in Debrecen has reached a milestone: the new production hall has reached its highest point of 15.3 meters, Managing Director Csaba Juhász announced at the building's topping-out ceremony on Tuesday.
With the new hall, the Debrecen production unit of Harro Höfliger, a manufacturer of mainly pharmaceutical and medical technology machinery based in southern Germany, will triple its production area and double its workforce in the coming years, he said.
Csaba Juhász told MTI that last year's HUF 10 billion turnover was almost 20% higher than a year earlier, and the increase in profits could be in double figures, which will expand development opportunities.
The company's sales plan for this year is in the order of HUF 10 billion, which could increase significantly once the new production hall is operational.
Currently, 210 people are employed, and by the time the new hall enters production, the number will reach 300, including dual students.
Thomas Heckner, Managing Director of Harro Höfliger, said that their company is active in the pharmaceutical and medical technology markets, sectors that are constantly growing, with high innovation potential and high-quality expectations. The Debrecen plant will be integrated into this group to a high standard, he added.
