The 100% Hungarian-owned Hód Plast Ltd. has established an IBC tank and barrel manufacturing facility in Algyő, SE Hungary, with an investment of EUR 6.5 million, the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) reports.

Founded in 1998, the company manufactures plastic bottles, canisters of various sizes, and the caps used for these containers. Their products are used to package a wide range of substances, from dishwashing liquids and fabric softeners to distilled water, antifreeze, thinners and motor oils. The company’s export ratio typically ranges between 30–35%, and its products reach all countries neighbouring Hungary.

As part of the development in Csongrád-Csanád County, a modern and complex manufacturing base has been established to meet growing market demand and ensure the high-technology production of industrial packaging solutions such as IBC tanks and barrels.

The investment that is expected to create a dozen new jobs has been implemented on a 4.5-hectare site in Algyő, including a production hall of more than 6,000 square meters and 800 square meters of office and service space, as well as a solar power system. About 35% of the investment costs have been covered by Hungarian taxpayers through a government decision.

Storage capacity for the raw materials required for production will reaches 500 tons. The facility is capable of producing tens of thousands of IBC tanks and barrels annually.
