The volume of Hungary’s construction output grew by 3.2% month on month in February 2015, but the fall in orders data suggest that regardless of the strong start this year the floor will soon fall from under the sector, the business website portfolio.hu reports.

Construction output rose 3.2% on a month-on-month basis in February, according to data adjusted seasonally and for working days, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported this Wednesday. As the sector expanded on a monthly basis back in January too, construction performance is back around its election-related peak reached last year.

Output of both main groups of constructions increased: that of buildings by 4.8% and that of civil engineering works by 5.9%. The growth in the construction of civil engineering works - as in previous months - was related to road construction and railway reconstruction works as well as public utility projects running in several parts of the country, the website quotes the stats office as saying.
