Invitel Telecom to be purchased by Digi

Romanian telecom operator Digi Communications is to buy Invitel Telecommunications Co. Ltd., one of the key operators on Hungary’s telecom market, for EUR 140 million. The transaction will be carried out through Digi’s Hungarian subsidiary. The deal is expected to be completed in mid-March 2018.

Invitel Telecommunications Co. Ltd. is the retail and small business part of the Hungarian group Invitel. Last year, the company had a turnover of about EUR 85 million and a profit of EUR 23.2 million.

Digi Communications is controlled by Romanian investor Zoltan Teszári, an ethnic Hungarian who owns the largest cable TV and fixed internet network in Romania, RCS&RDS.

According to the financial website portfolio.hu, Invitech
Solutions, another company in the Invitel Group, will provide network and IT solutions
for Digi for at least ten years.
