The real estate property development firm Colliers has sold a 30,000 sq m industrial complex as part of a nine-hectare site in Nemesvámos, near Veszprém, W Hungary to the Austrian automation company Knapp.
The seller MTD Hungary, a lawnmower producer, closed the factory in 2020 as they decided to centralize the production somewhere else and asked Colliers to put the property on the market for sale.
According to Tamás Beck, Head of Industrial at Colliers Hungary, “as always, the immediate availability and an attractive pricing makes this type of product suitable for companies who are looking to start up a new business or production line in Hungary. In this specific case the location, some 200 kilometers away only from the buyer Knapp’s Headquarters in Graz in Austria, the quality of the buildings and the pool of former MTD workers to hire were the decisive factors for Knapp to acquire the buildings and start up the new operation.”
