Lego Manufacturing Kft., the Hungarian subsidiary of the Danish LEGO group increased its net sales by 11% and its profits by 13% last year, the company told the Hungarian news agency MTI. In 2016, the Group closed its best year in its 85-year history.
The revenues of the factory operating in northeastern Hungaryy increased from HUF 29,692 million in 2015 to 32,969 million in 2016. The after tax profit rose from HUF 694.4 million in 2007 to 788.6 million, which is almost the same as the 2014 figure.
The hungarian company's balance sheet total increased to HUF 90.2 billion in 2015 and HUF 100.4 billion in 2016, with an average number of employees of 1,948.
According to the global figures of the Lego Group, net income grew by 6% to DKK 37.9 billion, compared to the EUR 35.8 billion (DKK 1,413) achieved in 2015.
Operating profit was DKK 12.4 billion in 2016 and 12.2 billion in 2015, an increase of 1.7% year-on-year. The annual net profit rose to DKK 9.4 billion, compared to the 9.2 billion in 2015.
Last year, the Danish international company launched more than 335 new products, USD 2.9 billion in real estate and manufacturing capacity, including the construction of a new Chinese factory. The Lego Group had 17,294 employees at the end of 2015, and 1,760 new employees joined the company last year.
