LINDE GÁZ Magyarország Zrt. has announced that it has taken the lead in hydrogen mobility by being the first company in Hungary to install a hydrogen filling station.
LINDE inaugurated the country's first hydrogen filling station on April 29, 2021 at the company's Budapest site. The ceremony was attended by Dr. László Palkovics, Minister of Innovation and Technology, Attila Steiner, State Secretary and István Lepsényi, Head of the National Hydrogen
Technology Platform.
Other participants of the hydrogen mobility event are the leaders of Toyota Central Europe Kft., LINDE Magyarország Anyagmozgatási Kft. and KONTAKT-Elektro Kft. In addition to the inauguration of the country's first hydrogen filling station, the first domestic test drive of the 2nd generation Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel cell car took place, green hydrogen-powered forklift trucks and a ship were presented.

Hydrogen is a zero-emission fuel source for trains, buses, trucks, cars, forklifts and ships, among others. LINDE builds on its extensive international experience and broad technology portfolio to deliver economically viable hydrogen technologies for mass deployment and to play a leading role in domestic hydrogen projects.
LINDE has installed over 200 hydrogen fueling stations and 80 hydrogen electrolysis plants worldwide and operates an unrivaled hydrogen pipeline network of approximately 1,000 kilometers to reliably supply our customers.
At the ceremony, Minister of Innovation and Technology, László Palkovics was of the view that "the Hungarian future is national, high-tech and green. We consider those actions acceptable that serve Hungarian interests in the long term, provide modern solutions and are sustainable not only economically but also environmentally. The Hungarian hydrogen strategic vision plays a role in this framework, and the inauguration and test operation of the first hydrogen filling station is an important step in its implementation. Today we are one step closer to our goal of Hungary becoming climate neutral by 2050."
Ákos Hegedüs, Managing Director of LINDE GÁZ Magyarország Zrt. stressed that "we are proud that LINDE is the first company in Hungary to enable the filling of hydrogen-fuelled cars, commercial vehicles and ships. This is a significant milestone in the life of the company and a huge opportunity for Hungarian users."
Andreas X.
