LogMeIn Inc., a developer of telecommuting and remote access software with annual sales exceeding USD 1.3 billion last year, will now operate as GoTo and plans to expand its workforce in Hungary by at least 20% this year, John Ford, GoTo's Hungarian managing director announced at a background meeting in Budapest on Wednesday.
LogMeIn, which started in Hungary, now operates on four continents, has two dozen offices and is ranked among the top 10 most influential software-as-a-service (SaaS) companies in the world.
The name change is in line with their aim to fully serve the IT needs of small and medium-sized enterprises, the CEO said, adding that the name change will be accompanied by the launch of GoTo Resolve, a 100% Hungarian-developed product that is the first in the market to provide a ransomware-protected supply chain for IT administrators.
He also mentioned that the LastPass password management software division will be spun off from LogMeIn. About 90% of LastPass developers work in Hungary, currently in a hybrid format, mostly from home, he added.
The company has more than 3,000 employees worldwide. Hungary is their largest developer base, but they also have operations in the German, North American and Australian markets, which together account for just under 20% of their Hungarian workforce, he noted.
