As part of the EUR 23.1 million investment by the MAB Group — one of Hungary’s largest privately owned mining and construction materials companies — a rock wool insulation manufacturing plant will be built with a maximum production capacity of up to 50,000 tons.
The project in Heves County by MAB Insulations Ltd., part of the 100% Hungarian-owned MAB Group, is expected to create 110 new jobs.
The development is implemented with the support of the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) that provides close to one third of the invested amount as state subsidy. The project will be carried out at the existing quarry site of MAB Tarnóca Ltd. near Kisnána, ensuring direct access to the key raw material required for production.
Over the past 2.5 years, the MAB Group has already established a briquetting and concrete products plant at the site. It enables the recycling of waste generated during rock wool production in the form of concrete products.
