Szeged-based Medikémia Plc., a manufacturer of car care products, household products and paint aerosols, is expanding its capacity with an investment of more than HUF 350 million with EU support, the company informed the state news agency MTI.
According to the statement, HUF 247 million forints of the costs of the development, which will be completed by next autumn, will be covered by EU and national co-financing, conditionally non-reimbursable subsidies.
At the company's plant in Szeged, a city in southeast Hungary, an antistatic floor coating and explosion-proof air technology will be installed, process pipelines and a tanker unloading point will be built, and the temporary waste storage facility will be expanded.
The investment will also include the installation of an ion exchange water producer and a UV lamp germicidal device, liquid filters, an automatic liquid filler for the dispensing of flammable and explosive liquids, a spray gun closing machine and a mixing machine for the production of paints. The site's logistics system will be upgraded with conveyor belts, packaging and labelling equipment, pallet racking and forklift trucks. The energy needs of the plant will be partly covered by a new solar panel system.
The improvements will affect Medikémia Plc.'s entire product portfolio. The company's paint production capacity will be expanded by 30%, and its capacity for dispensing flammable and explosive liquids will be doubled.
