The Bavarian-owned Sano - Modern Takarmányozás ('Modern Fodder') Ltd. acquires Solum Mezőgazdasági ('Agricultural) Co. Ltd. in Komárom and establishes one of the most modern pig and cattle farms in the world with an investment of HUF 12 billion.
Sano managing director Zsolt Csorba told the Hungarian news agency MTI that more than 80% of the shares in the Komárom company had been purchased. During the developments, the number of dairy cows at the cattle farm will be increased from 900 to 2000, and the herd at Sano’s own pig farm will be increased from 500 sows to 1,200. Sano is developing digitized sample farms based on artificial intelligence. In order to operate the facilities, it participates in local vocational training and concludes a research and development agreement with the University of Győr, the managing director added.
