Petrolszolg's new HUF 6.7 billion headquarters in Tiszaújváros was inaugurated. The industrial maintenance and services company, wholly owned by the Hungarian oil and gas trust MOL Group, will now manage the servicing of MOL's Tiszaújváros site from the new building.
The 9,500-sqm facility has two floors, six units and four large workshop halls. This is the third investment in Tiszaújváros in the last six months to support the safety and high quality professional work of the Polyol plant under construction. The new chemical complex will create a total of 300 new jobs, thanks in part to the new Petrolszolg headquarters.
According to a press release, thanks to the new headquarters building, inaugurated on Wednesday, Petrolszolg will be able to carry out the maintenance tasks related to the MOL Petrochemicals (MPK) site from a single location that will also combine the administrative and practical tasks related to the service. This is a big step because previously Petrolszolg operated in 26 rented and two owned buildings at the Tiszaújváros site.
Due to the shared operation, logistics and division of labour between the workshops were slower, but the newly opened state-of-the-art central workshop will create the conditions for efficiency gains in both the company's operations and maintenance tasks, and will also be more cost-effective.
The 9500 -sqm two-storey building is divided into six sections: four large workshop halls housing the olefin machinist, polymer machinist, rotary machine and assembly workshops. There is also space for the control engineering department, several offices, meeting rooms, warehouses and service rooms, as well as two parking lots with a total of 180 spaces.
Work started in May 2020 and was completed on time despite the pandemic.
