The Hungarian oil and gas company MOL has shipped more than two million liters of its hand and surface disinfectants to hospitals, state and municipal institutions, public utilities and law enforcement agencies since late March when it began the production of these products.
The company also started serving wholesale partners last week, reaching about 600 customers. the company told the Hungarian news agency MTI on Tuesday.
The next few months will be about getting to know the market needs and expanding the product range, as well as developing the production capacity, Szabolcs Vida, the managing director of Mol-Lub Ltd. said in the announcement.
In March, Mol-Lub, a lubricants manufacturing subsidiary of MOL, switched its production line in Almásfüzítő, NW of Budapest, to disinfectant production in just two weeks. The plant formerly produced windshield washer fluid. The raw material, ethanol, is procured from a Hungarian source, so a Hungarian company produces a Mol Hygi disinfectant from a Hungarian supplier, MTI adds.
