MVM and E.ON Terminate Sale and Purchase Agreement

By mutual agreement, the sale and purchase agreement concluded between the MVM Group and the E.ON Group on December 16, 2024, concerning the purchase of a 68% stake in E.ON Energie Romania and a 98% stake in E.ON Asist Complet, would be terminated this Friday, MVM informed MTI.

In its announcement, MVM emphasizes that it regrets that the Romanian government does not support the transaction, despite the fact that the contracting parties cooperated fully with the Romanian government and authorities.

MVM remains committed to its strategy of portfolio diversification and international expansion. As the eighth largest group of companies in Central and Eastern Europe, it continues to seek regional business opportunities and intends to further strengthen the region's security of supply through its regional expansion, the statement said.

The MVM Group will continue to work towards becoming a regional hub in most areas of the energy sector, in addition to natural gas trading, the statement said.

On December 16, 2024, the MVM Group announced that it was acquiring a majority stake in Romania's leading energy provider, E.ON Energie Romania. The value of the transaction was not disclosed.
