The world’s largest food producer company, Nestlé inaugurated an expansion at its Purina pet food plant in Bük (W Hungary) on Friday.
Speaking at the event, Economy and Energy Minister István Kapitány said Hungary's government aimed to establish ties with investors based on "stability, predictability and partnership," instead of "the award of large-scale grants."
"The state can do much for investors, but afterward we expect them to see a long-term future in Hungary, so we can operate as a knowledge-based economy in Europe," he added.
The minister explained that the government would help those investors who support Hungary's development with cutting-edge technology, know-how and business culture, while sharing their success with Hungarian suppliers and laborers.
Prime Minister Péter Magyar said the government welcomed all corporate investments that created jobs and strengthened the economy. He added that businesses were also expected to ensure Hungarian laborers safe and predictable workplaces.
With the latest investment, headcount at the base in Bük has climbed to 1,800.
