Géza Vincze took up the position of Managing Director of Auchan Hungary on March 1. He has almost 30 years of commercial experience at large international chains following different models, the retail chain has announced.
During his career, Géza Vincze has held various positions in several international retail and wholesale companies. He started his career at Mars, Incorporated, a multinational company, before joining the C&C team at METRO, and most recently as Purchasing Director at Penny Hungary.
From there, he now comes to Auchan Hungary as Managing Director at the unanimous request of the Supervisory Board representing the owners. In addition to purchasing, he has extensive experience in sales, marketing and controlling. He is also an expert in both in-store and online retailing, and at METRO he was also responsible for supporting the independent small business sector, where he worked with B2B partners.
He graduated from the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management at the College of Commerce, Hospitality and Tourism and then from the Budapest University of Economics and Business Administration, majoring in International Relations.
His main objective as Managing Director of Auchan Hungary is to further strengthen the company's market position.
"My aim is to incorporate the experience and best practices gained in different retail models into the daily operations of Auchan's hypermarkets, supermarkets and online retailing wherever possible and appropriate. Our ambition is to make spectacular progress in the retail market and to be one of the top players in the medium term. I see expansion based on a well-thought-out commercial strategy, competitive prices and a unique assortment as key to this - and I will focus on these.
In addition, it is essential that customers continue to have access to the services they are used to and that they are available in some form in as many localities as possible. To do this, we need to strengthen our supplier relationships and expand our partnerships with new partners - market players who support our ambitions and for whom we can contribute to the success of their businesses. I want to achieve this with a flexible and motivated team that responds quickly and effectively to the challenges we face," the new Managing Director of Auchan Hungary said.
