Thanks to the new technology applied at the Székesfehérvár plant of the American company Howmet, which provides advanced engineering solutions globally for the aerospace and transportation industries, production capacity will increase by 50%. The company's EUR 44.9 million investment inaugurated this week promises the creation of 80 new jobs in the region, according to a report by the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency, HIPA.

The company's activities focus primarily on the production of jet engine components, aerospace fastener systems and aircraft structural elements. At the Howmet-Köfém Ltd. plant in Székesfehérvár, the company is primarily engaged in aluminum press forging, machining and surface treatment.

As part of the project, a new 5,500-sqm warehouse equipped with automated technology was built, resulting in a 50% increase in manufacturing capacity. The Dura Bright surface treatment technology, developed in Hungary and applied in the new warehouse, is at the forefront of industry standards and offers significant advantages over traditional solutions.

Over the past ten years, Howmet has implemented investments totaling approximately EUR 225 million in the region, contributing to the economic development and future of Székesfehérvár. 80% of the company’s products are sold on the European market, while the remaining 20% is sold in Japan, Australia and the United States.

A statement by the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade says the Hungarian state covers almost 30% of the investment costs of the project inaugurated in Székesfehérvár this week.
