The new high-performance PET bottling production line of Szentkirályi Magyarország Ltd. has inaugurated this week. The HUF 2.8 billion investment was built in the first phase of the company's five-year development program.
One of the key objectives of Szentkirályi Magyarország Ltd.'s HUF 10 billion development program, launched in 2022, is the transition to a circular economy. Thanks in part to the investment, the company will be able to bottle Pepsi products in Hungary again next year, after such activity was phased out in 2015.
Levente Balogh, co-owner and chairman of Szentkirályi Magyarország Ltd., said that the strength of Szentkirályi proves that the brand survives every crisis. According to him, the demand for the company's products is constantly growing, and thanks to the new production line that has just been inaugurated, the company will be able to meet the demand in the long term. He said that further expansions were being prepared to strengthen Szentkirályi as a strategically important national company.
Szentkirályi Hungary Ltd.'s predecessor, Szentkirályi Kft., was founded in 2003 and has been managed by its owner and managing director Levente Balogh since then. As a dedicated manufacturer of quality products, the company is continuously developing and expanding its production capacity. Already in 2005 and 2007, new PET packaging lines were put into operation, and in 2010 a new warehouse base was built. In 2012, a high-capacity pre-forming machine was put into operation, and the water treatment technology was renewed. In 2018, a joint investment with the Italian Pasquale family led to the construction of a new production hall, where a modern production line and other service equipment were installed.
Szentkirályi Hungary Ltd. was established in 2019 by Levente Balogh and the Pasquale family. The transaction followed their joint acquisition of PepsiCo's interests in Hungary, making them the exclusive Hungarian distributors of PepsiCo soft drinks and food products and the franchise rights holders.
Szentkirályi Magyarország Ltd. currently has almost 600 employees. The company has two plants in Hungary and owns 24 brands.
