This Monday, the Körmend site (in W Hungary) of Egis Pharmaceutical was visited by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó and the CEO of the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) István Joó, the company reports on its website.

CEO Csaba Poroszlai and Plant Director László Sabáli reviewed, on behalf of the company, the investments that have been completed – with government support – recently as well as those currently underway. These projects are primarily aimed at expanding the company’s manufacturing and packaging capacities at the Egis site in Körmend. Until recently, tableting and packaging operations ran in three shifts at approximately 90% capacity. The associated logistics areas also operated at 90–95% capacity.

The company says the new, increased capacities created by these investments will ensure that the Egis Pharmaceutical can increase its production volume in line with growing market demand and continue to contribute to the security of the pharmaceutical supply.

Overall, investments totaling 33 billion HUF have been made at the Körmend plant over the past 10 years, partly thanks to state support. This represents nearly 6 billion HUF in state subsidies.
