A new molecular biology laboratory of the Hungarian pharmaceutical company Richter Gedeon was inaugurated in Debrecen, E Hungary. The new lab serves the company's objectives of appearing on new markets internationally.
At the ceremonial opening, Erik Bogsch, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Richter Gedeon Plc., said that new products will be of biological nature in the future, primarily in the field of immunology and oncology. He added that a pharmaceutical company has to think over the long term, and therefore his firm invests more than HUF 40 billion forints annually in research and development.
He stressed that there is significant added value in the city, and thus Richter Gedeon wil be able to employ engineers, biologists and technologists to ensure that the highest level of technology is actively present locally.
