Procter&Gamble (P&G) is to build a new greenfield factory in Gyöngyös, northeastern Hungary, the corporation's second plant in this country, with an investment of HUF 19 billion (EUR 63.5 mn), the company’s representatives announced on Friday.
The investment will create 150 new jobs in addition to the already existing 800 jobs. Procter&Gamble is already partner to several hundred local suppliers, providing them with further opportunities to expand and develop.
The company says the decision to invest was based on the positive investor environment, the well-qualified workforce and the infrastructural capacity of Hungary. The factory will produce to the Central and Eastern European markets, as well as other countries of the EU, the Middle East and Northern Africa.
