The usual winter production break is expected to be held between December 18 and January 17 by the Mercedes factory in Kecskemét, and production is currently suspended for a few days in October as well.
Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Hungary Ltd. told the Hungarian news agency MTI on Monday that taking advantage of the Christmas holiday period, the factory prepares for the next production year with normal winter work.
Due to more extensive reconstruction work, the winter production break is scheduled to run from December 18, 2020 to January 17, 2021.
On March 17, Mercedes-Benz brand owner Daimler AG discontinued production at many of its European sites due to the coronavirus epidemic. The measure also affected Mercedes-Benz's Kecskemét plant where work was also suspended in most areas between March 20 and April 28.
The company said the factory had returned to the three-shift work schedule from August 2, producing the full capacity of the CLA Coupé, CLA Shooting Brake and their Plug-in Hybrid versions for the world market, as well as the A-Class and their compact models Mercedes-AMG Performance versions.
