Magyar Suzuki announced on Monday that production at its Esztergom plant has restarted as planned, the Reuters news agency reported.
The company had announced a week earlier, on Monday last week, that production of the Vitara and S-Cross models would be suspended in Esztergom from January 15 to January 22 after supply was disrupted by the Red Sea crisis.
According to the company's statement, the ships will be diverted to the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa instead of the Red Sea following the change in delivery routes, however, the re-routing may have an impact on pricing, according to the company.
The situation caused by the attacks by the Yemeni Houthi rebels is also causing significant disruption to the operations of several European factories.
