Market Group's two real estate development subsidiaries, Market Asset Management and Property Market, won three prestigious awards at the 15th Real Estate Awards gala, the real estate group informed MTI on Friday.
The BEM Center office building was named Commercial Development of the Year and Greenest Project of the Year, while the Kimpton BEM Budapest Hotel was awarded Hotel Development of the Year.
The two complexes, located on the Buda Danube bank, were built within the same project, developed by Market Asset Management Plc. and the construction firm Market Építő Plc., rebuilding the former Radetzky barracks, preserving its main facade, combining respect for tradition and modern design.
The use of sustainable technologies in the development of the BEM Center was also rewarded. Two thirds of the renewable energy generated by the solar panels on the roof structure is used by the building itself. The parking system is based on smart technology and irrigation is provided by rainwater, they said.
The 127-room, five-star superior Kimpton BEM Budapest Hotel is the first hotel in Hungary for the Kimpton brand, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts' luxury and lifestyle portfolio. The interior design of the boutique hotel was created by Dutch firm Marcel Wanders.
Since its foundation in 1996, Market Építő Plc. has been involved in more than 850 major projects.
