With an investment of about HUF 20 billion, the Rossmann chain is building a 28,000-square-meter logistics center and a 4,000-square-meter office in Üllő, the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2025, the company said on its website.
According to the information, a modern semi-automated warehouse will be built to supply the whole country, which can be further expanded later. The development will take place on the site of the company's current headquarters.
The cooling and heating of the warehouse and office complex will be provided by solar panels and heat pumps, and the parking lots will also offer the possibility of charging electric cars, the statement quoted András Farkas, the project manager.
The technological part of the project, worth around HUF 6 billion, will be implemented from Rossmann's own financial results. The developer of the project is Panattoni Hungary Development Ltd., the warehouse technology is supplied by SSI Schaefer, and the owner of the complex is OTP Real Estate Investment Fund, the statement said.
According to the information, earthworks are scheduled to start in January 2024, handover is planned for the end of 2025 and occupancy for the beginning of 2026.
The German drugstore-perfumery chain, which has been operating on the Hungarian market for 30 years, currently operates 254 stores in more than 150 Hungarian settlements.
