German-owned animal feed producer Sano-Modern Takarmányozás Ltd. laid the cornerstone, on Thursday, of a HUF 10 billion feed mixing plant that will triple capacity at its base in Csém (NW Hungary).
The new plant, to be completed by October 2028, will have capacity to produce 120,000 tons of feed a year.
Managing director Zsolt Csorba said the plant would supply cattle and hog farms in Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and Bulgaria.
Half of the investment costs is covered by Hungarian taxpayers through a government decision that provides a HUF 5 billion support as a non-refundable grant.
Sano-Modern Takarmányozás had net sales revenue of HUF 7.5 billion in 2024.
