This year, seven Hungarian companies have been included in the Financial Times' (FT) list of Europe's 1,000 companies ranked by their growth, the British business daily told MTI on Tuesday.
A1 Solar was ranked the top Hungarian company in the FT1000, with the photovoltaic systems provider coming 12th overall. DATAPAO, a data analytics company, was ranked 210th, while Sprintform, a digital consultancy and web and mobile application developer, was 342nd. Container developer Continest came 428th, construction company Lakógép 450th, business intelligence solutions provider Hiflylabs 923rd and server distributor Maraelite 963rd.
The list is based on annual growth rates between 2020 and 2023 and was compiled in conjunction with German data researcher Statista. More than three quarters of the companies in the ranking are headquartered in Italy, Germany, France and the UK. A fifth of the top 1,000 European companies are IT and software companies, with the largest share coming from the categories of construction and engineering, energy and utilities, advertising and marketing, and fintech, financial services and insurance, they wrote.
According to the list published on the FT's website, Polish energy company Menlo Electric, founded in 2020, tops the ranking. The company came out on top by increasing its profit from just under EUR 187,000 to more than EUR 15 million in 3 years.
