The volume of industrial output grew by 0.3% year-on-year in August, Hungary’s Central Statistical Office reports. Based on working-day adjusted data, production rose by 2.7%. on a monthly basis, industrial output decreased by 1.2%, according to seasonally and working-day adjusted data. The volume of industrial exports increased by 2.0% year-on-year.
Transport equipment exports, accounting for 34% of manufacturing export sales, jumped by 13.7%; the exports of computer manufacturing , electronic and optical products, representing an 18% weight, rose by 6.6%.
Output in the manufacturing sector, which accounts for 96% of industrial production, grew by 0.2% and declined by 0.3% in mining and quarrying. The output of the energy industry (electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply) fell below the previous year’s level by 2.5%.
