The CECZ Group is building a smart warehouse in Vác with an investment of HUF 25 billion. The project was celebrated with a topping out ceremony this Thursday in the town north of Budapest.
Finance Minister Mihály Varga Mihály, who attended the ceremony, suggested that the investment could be an important part of China's Belt and Road program. The Hungarian government joined this initiative in 2015.
Balázs László Gazsó, CEO of CECZ Ltd., said that Thursday's event will also celebrate the emergence of a new era of logistics, automation and technological development in the Vác region. The warehouse under construction will be equipped with the latest technologies and automated systems. The investment is also significant from a job creation point of view, as it will create 200 new jobs. The facility will also serve as a catalyst for research and development activities and, through the possibility of practical training, will help young talent to develop by providing them with real-life experience, he added.
At the event, a strategic cooperation agreement was signed between CECZ Ltd. and representatives of Sinotrans, China's largest global supply chain logistics provider. Song Rong, CEO of Sinotrans, said that the cooperation agreement is an important milestone for Sinotrans' entry into Hungary and its presence in Europe. In his opinion, Hungary has outstanding geographical advantages, developed infrastructure and a favourable investment environment, and Hungary and China have extensive economic and trade cooperation.
