In addition to the percentage growth, Törley Sparkling Wine Cellar Ltd. had a number of successes last year, the company has announced. Hungaria sparkling wines continued to soar in 2021, with sales of the range exceeding all expectations. As of this month, the company strengthened its management with a new Managing Director.
According to a press release by the company, their Hungaria Extra Dry Rosé sparkling wine became the second best-selling product in the Hungaria family.
The fact that it was awarded the gold medal at the Effervescents du Monde competition for the third year in a row and was also three times among the top ten sparkling wines in the competition must have contributed to this, they say.
In the summer, Törley sparkling wines were given a new look, with a modern, clean design that is waiting to be brought to consumers' tables. There has also been a change in the portfolio, with Törley sparkling wines made with the Transvasée process now sourced exclusively from their vineyards in the Tokaj region.
The special product also demands a special look, with a transparent bottle in an eye-catching shape that perfectly matches the succulent sparkling wines. Consumers can taste the reimagined Tokaj sparkling wine in both the Sweet and Brut categories.
In terms of numbers, Törley Sparkling Wine Cellar Ltd. sold approximately 5.4% more sparkling wine category products in 2021 than in the previous year. The volume of products sold on the domestic market increased by 8.3%. Sales of higher price category products increased so much in 2021 that they exceeded the number of not only 2020, but also of each of the last five years. Wine sales continued to grow in 2021 by 4.1%.
New Managing Director
On April 1, 2022, Kornél Müller joined the management team of Törley Sparkling Wine Cellar Ltd. as Managing Director for Marketing, Sales and Technology. Gábor Csekei continues as Managing Director for Finance, Controlling and Production Processes.
Kornél Müller decided to take on new challenges after 21 years, during which time he lived abroad for 13 years on behalf of the company, holding management positions in Rotterdam and London.
His ambition is, among other things, to further strengthen the position of Törley Winery's brands in both the sparkling wine and wine and spirits categories.
The press release says Kornél Müller's innovative approach fits perfectly with the spirit of Törley Sparkling Wine Cellar, as it has always been important for the company to be at the forefront of innovation while preserving its 140 years of tradition.
