SungEel Hitech Hungary Ltd. is to expand its presence in Hungary with another battery processing plant. After the plant in Szigetszentmiklós, which was handed over in 2019, an 8,700-square-meter recycling park opened in July this year in Bátonyterenye, Nógrád County, north of Budapest.
With an investment of EUR 25.75 million, 30% of which is to be covered by Hungarian taxpayers through a government decision, 100 new jobs are promised to be created.
The South Korean SungEel Hitech recycles rechargeable batteries. In 2019, as its first European investment, the world-leading company established a 3,400-square-meter plant in Szigetszentmiklós.
In its new recycling park in Bátonyterenye, SungEel Hitech Hungary Ltd. mainly utilizes the waste products of the Samsung SDI battery factory in Göd in an environmentally friendly way with cutting edge technology. Thanks to the new plant, the current annual recycling amount of 7,000 tonnes of discharged lithium-ion batteries and scrap metal may increase by 50,000 tons per year.
